End of Summer

Well a week ago today I finished my last camp of the summer! I had such an amazing summer and I want to thank everyone that helped make it so amazing! I spent 90% of my summer heading all the camps at UT (Tennessee for those that dont know which UT I'm talking about). I went in knowing that I had some tough shoes to live up to (because Nicole was such an amazing HCM and did a great job with the UT camps) but I wanted to live up to them while making those camps my own. I do believe that in the end I was able to do that! It was tough at times and I struggled some but I really think I lived up to what everyone was hoping I would! I met some great new friends this summer while forming strong bonds with people I already knew! I just want to thank Varsity for everything this summer and also for giving me the chance to grow and learn more about myself then I thought I could do in one summer! I am so sad to see this summer end but I know that I have lots of wonderful things to look forward to!!! Like starting my Job (which I did yesterday but that is for another post)!! Below I will share a few more pics from the summer just to catch you up on things that have gone on since my last post! Hope you guys are having a great Wed and once I get internet at my apartment tomorrow night I promise to update you on the job and things like that!!

Chloe :)

P.S. I will say the one neg thing that happened to me this summer happened on my last night of camp at UT. Someone broke into my car and stole my favorite purse :( Good thing I had my wallet on me so they did not get any money! Sadly they got my brand new Coach sunglasses that I had bought for myself as a birthday gift but at least those are just a material item and can be replaced! Other than that as my parting gift I had a great summer in Knoxville!!

I GOT A JOB

So all of you that read this blog know that for the past year I have been working hard on trying to find a full time job. Well last Friday I had an interview at King College in Bristol TN and on Wed of this week they offered me the position! I am now the new Assistant Athletic Trainer at King College working with Women's Basketball, Softball and Cheerleading/Dance. I finish my last day of camp on Aug 1st and I start Aug 5, so I have not much time to go to NC pack and get moved! I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life and to bring you guys along on my journey of beginning my career!!

Bristol, TN is a much smaller city then what I am use to but I know I will love it. I know lots of people that live within 2 hours of me that I haven't normally been able to spend lots of time with and now I will have that chance. I'm just so excited for this new chapter and to start fresh in a new place and feel like I am finally doing something! So be ready for the blogs about the new adventures that will be had in Bristol TN and surrounding areas!!

Erin's Bachelorette Weekend

Before
This past weekend Erin, Megan, their mom, her best friend and I made a trip up to Charles Town, WV to go to the Hollywood Casino and horse race  track to celebrate Erin getting married! Lets just say 6 hours in the car on Friday was a very long time but it was worth the drive for the fun we had! On Friday night we went to the Skybox Sports Bar for dinner. Lets just say this was the most interesting dinner I have had in a long time and all because Erin thought it would be fun to try and concur "The beast". This  is a 2lb burger, 1lb of toppings and 1lb of fries....so yes that is 4lbs of food and she had an hour to eat it all. For those of you that know Erin know that she might weigh 110lbs soaking wet so for her to eat this much food in one setting was going to be interesting (even though this little girl does know how to eat)! When the waitress brought out the food, first she was shocked that they were bringing the thing to this little bachelorette and second  all the people around us about fell on the floor. The one guy sitting behind us looked at her and said let me know if you need help with that. The manager even came out and told her that she was in total shock when they told her that a little bachelorette ordered "The Beast" and that she hoped she could complete it because she would be the first female to concur it and she would love to have her picture in all her gear up on their board. haha the power went out in the casino and bar not long after she got her food and Megan did think of all the different ways we could hide the food or get rid of some of it so Erin could win, get her picture taken and win her t-shirt but in the end "The beast" concurred Erin and she only finished half of the meal. (which I do give her props for because I dont think I could have eaten as much of it as she did) below are 3 pics I took to document her and "The beast" challenge

During the challenge

After she threw in the towel

While we were in the casino their were horrible storms going on outside and all around us (we did not know they were happening other than the warnings that were on the TVs in the bar and the fact that the power went out for about 10mins) After we finished dinner we went and did some gambling for about 3 hours. I lost $40 (was up by about 16 and got greedy) but I guess that happens, you think you are feeling lucky and then you get  greedy and loose it! At least I wasnt like Erin who put $3 in won up to $100 and then lost it all haha :) at about 2am we decided to head back to the hotel to get some sleep! It was such a fun first day and Sat was going to be even better!

Sat morning we pretty much slept in and everyone was finally fully awake by 11am and ready for the day. We started out the day learning that thousands of people in WV had lost power due to the horrible storms that came through the night before that we really had no idea were happening due to being in the casino all night. We drove through the town of Charles Town on out way to a distillery to taste some limoncello for the first time. Lets just say when we pulled up to this plantation that was built in 1840 their were trees down all over the place but the building was standing and it was so cute! We walked in to learn that they did not have any power from the storms the night before but they were opened and ready to let us taste! Limoncello is a Italian drink, the people that owned the place said they were in Italy the year or so before and they really enjoyed it and could not find it here in the states so they decided to make their own. They had only been open in Oct 2011 and they did have times when they ran out of stuff because they zest all the lemons themselves and grow all the lemons and raspberries that they use. It was very fun and interesting to learn about their history and how they made their Limoncello! we also learned that they bought the plantation off of craigs list! While we were they got Erin to put on their lemon costume! It was so funny but she looked so cute in it! Our little Lemon Bachelorette :) When we were done at the distillery we headed back to hotel to rest up for a night full of horse racing and gambling!!

Sat night we headed to the Skyline Terrance for dinner! Now this was one heck of a restaurant! Every table in the restaurant had an amazing view of the race track, there was a TV at every table so you could watch the race and keep up with the odds and such for every horse and the table was ours for the whole night! It was so great! They had an amazing buffet that we could eat at whenever we wanted to till 10pm and the betting window was right by our table! I will just say it was one of the most fun nights I have had in a very long time!! I loved the races (it was the first one i had ever been too)! It was just so fun and we got so excited when someone at the table had bet on a horse! I ended up beating about $12 on the night and won back $7.60 so I would say I didnt to do bad haha. It was so much fun to walk out to the track and hear and see the horses up close! The track was really fast on sat night and it was so clear from the start how fast the horses were! I def would love to go back and see the races again and I would really love to head to the Kentucky Derby one day!! (as you can tell from the pic above we dressed like we were going to the KY Derby) We just had so much fun and the jockey that road I'll Have Another (the winner of the Kentucky Derby and  Belmont Stakes ) was their riding in 2 different races so that was cool! When the races  were over around 11 we headed  back to the hotel to change  clothes (so we could be comfortable for our night of gambling). Lets just say by the end of the night I had lost a total of $80 in the casino (total on both nights) I did at one point get up by about $10 but once again I got greedy and lost it all (you would have thought I would have learned from the night before) but no I didnt. But since I never go gambling and this past weekend was only the 2nd time in my whole life that I had even been in casino I did not get upset at my looses but I will take it as a lesson learned for the next time I decided to gamble! haha

But over all I had a fantastic weekend and I can not wait till September 8th when Erin and James will say I do and we get to celebrate the actual event of their wedding!!

Summer Camps

Well June is coming to an end and I have worked 5 camps in 3 different states so far! I started my summer off in SC working SCISA camp, then headed to Auburn for a camp and just finished the month off with 3 straight camps at Tennessee! I have had such a good summer so far! Tennessee was a lot of work (since I am heading all these camps this summer), I didnt get a lot of sleep but I made some great new friends and had a lot of fun! If I thought that the month of June was tiring I am in for a rude awakening because July is going to be longer with no days off!! But it will be worth it to spend time with some great friends, making memories and money!! I love my job and being able to be with people I love doing something I love!!  Hope everyone else is having a great summer so far! Enjoy a few pic that I have taken so far this summer!!

Chloe :)

P.S. At camp every summer we have a pep rally and this summer the pep rally is summer splash. That is why almost all my pics are in pool/beach gear! I def have a lot of fun at camp with the summer splash and like to get into it so the campers see that I am enjoying myself at camp just like them and the rest of the staff!!!

Wilmington for Prestons 1st Birthday

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY P MAN!!!!

This past weekend I went to Wilmington to hangout with my Bestest and visit with the cutest little redhead in the whole wide world, P Man!! I was very happy to go and see them this weekend but more excited because P Man turned 1 today! I was so excited to give Preston his birthday presents and just love on him! I was also excited to see my Bestest since I hadnt seen her since Feb when they moved to Wilmington. I arrived Friday night and we just hung out at her house and ate some crab legs for dinner. Sat we went out and about in Wilmington. We went to toys-r-us and I bought P Man the 2nd part of his birthday present. It is a train he can push and ride and it teaches him his abcs. It is so cute and he loves it already!!

I had to leave yesterday morning to drive to Atlanta for the night. I am off to Auburn today for my 2nd camp of the summer. My visit was way to short but I am so glad I got to see them both and wish P Man a Happy Birthday in person!! I miss them like crazy already but I am going to make it a point to go back and visit very soon and not let it be 4 months before I see them again!! I hope you enjoy some of my pics I took this weekend!! Now off to Auburn!! Until next time!

Call Me Maybe Video

This past week I worked SCISA....my first camp of the summer! This was my 6th year working this camp and it is normally my first of the summer! I really enjoy working this camp, the campers are so much fun and full of energy the whole 4 days and the coaches are so nice. I also enjoy this camp because it is at PC and I always get to spend a few days with Laurie and her kids (cant believe jay is 15 and Carolina is 13). When I first met Laurie they were 7 and 5. So yes I really enjoy coming back to this camp year after year!! So this year we all know the Call Me Maybe song is very popular and the Harvard Baseball team has made it even more popular with their YouTube video. Well on the first day of camp I played that song and well lets just say the girls have watched a little to much YouTube :) So we had the bright idea of videoing the whole camp doing that song. Well it turned out great and the campers and coaches loved it so I thought I would share it with all of you!

So my first camp of the summer is in the books. I had a great time and worked with a great staff!! I hope you guys enjoy the video of the campers doing their best version of Call Me Maybe!! Until next time!

Let Camps Begin

So almost 2 weeks ago my summer full of camps began. I started my summer off working at SE Cheer Work Week! That was such a fun week and a great way to start my summer! I got to spend lots of time with some of my favorite UCA staff members and just enjoy having a easy time getting ready for summer. I sadly did not really take any pic during work week for some reason so I dont really have anything to share on that end :( but know that I had a lot of fun and I really have enjoyed working this the past 5 years!

Next stop was Lake Geneva, WI for VCA vet training. I couldn't attend the training session in my own region due to the MAATA conference so I got the chance to go up to WI for 24hrs. Yes you heard that right, I flew out on Sat at 6am and landed back in Raleigh at 10pm on Sunday. So I did not get to spend lots of time there but it was so nice to see some VCA and UCA friends that I do not get the chance to see very often! I also got the chance to make some new friends and meet some NCA people that I will be working with this summer. This small amount of time in WI made me every excited for the summer and to get camps started!!

The only bad thing about this 24hr trip is the fact that Sunday was reporting day for my first camp. I landed at 10pm on Sunday, slept for about 4hrs and got up at 4:30am to drive to Clinton, SC for my first camp of the summer. I had to leave so early because I am heading the camp and wanted to arrive before registration started. I am very weird about my balance sheets (for those that dont know what that is, it is just the payment sheet that coaches have to sign agreeing to make payment) so I had to be there before it started. haha So thats where things are with me right now. I have had a very fun and exciting last 2 weeks and the summer is just getting started!!

So heres to a great summer of great camps with some great staff!!
