Macy's Parade 2013

I just got home from the most amazing trip! I spent the past week in New York City working the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! I had such a great time and I am so thankful to Varsity and SOA for providing me with the opportunity to work this trip. I do not think I can put into words how much fun I had and the many amazing new memories I made of the past week!! I spent so much money and I am officially broke for the next few months but it was all worth it! I would not trade anything that happened in the past week for anything! So I am going to touch on a few points of the trip and share some photos!! Hope you enjoy!

So first of all I got to spend the whole week with my Bestie! I had not seen her since May when I worked an event in Orlando! This was the first time that we had had the chance to be together over a holiday and I was so excited for it! A week together is a long time for us since we normally only get to see each other for like 2-3 days at a time a few times a year! Plus getting to experience NYC with her made it all the better! I also go to spend time with some amazing people that I call my second family!

I got to see two different shows while I was in NYC. We saw Newsies and the Radio City Rockettes. Newsies was such a fun and exciting show! I really enjoyed it and am glad I got the chance to see it. If I was just to go up to NYC on my own it would not have been a show that I just chose on my own so I am so excited that this trip gave me the chance to see a show I might not have seen other wise! My dad always use to talk about the Rockettes and how much he loved watching them perform. I am so happy that I finally got the chance to see the show in person and not just on TV or hearing people talk about it. It was a good show and very fun! Got to love the athleticism of the Rockettes and the fact that they do it all in heels!!

I did lots and lots of shopping in NYC. Spent most of my money in Soho! Did not spend much money on 5th Ave (because I can't afford 99% of the stuff) but it was so fun to see all these stores that I don't get to see normally. Also was introduced to a few new stores that I had never heard of before that were not expensive! But shopping in NYC is a totally different ball game then shopping anywhere else!!

The best part of the trip and main reason why I went to NYC was walking in the Parade! Being at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in person was definitely something on my backlist and I got to check it off!! We were worried that the balloons might not get to fly due to the wind but the weather held up and they flew. The 3 mile walk was the longest parade route to date. I got to see so many different stars! It was just so exciting to be apart of something that is such a staple to millions of people on Thanksgiving! I had a blast, even if I had to get up at 4:30am and couldn't feel my legs when all was said and done!! I would do it again a million times over! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!!

So I had the best trip! It was definitely a trip of a life time!! I had a blast and made lots of memories!! So thank you again to Varsity (exp Michelle, Coco and Karen) and SOA for allowing me to be apart of this trip and for helping me have a Thanksgiving I will never forget!

Heartbroken

This past weekend was a very hard weekend for me. I sadly had to put down my beloved George and let me tell you I am so heartbroken over it. I found out Sat morning that he had cancer and their was nothing we could do about it. The last thing I wanted for this amazingly sweet kitty was for him to suffer so I had to make the hard decision, by myself, to put him down. I do not believe I have cried this much since my dad passed away 7 1/2 years ago.

George has been a part of our family for the past 9 years and he was the most loving cat we have ever had. I always said he was a dog trapped in a cats body because he would come when he was called, waited at the door for me every day, among many other things. I loved this cat with all my heart and my house just isn't the same without him. George was also my daddy's cat, so loosing George is harder than any other animal I have ever had. So hard to put down the animal that my dad loved so much. Poor Boris is just walking around the house wondering where his brother is. This has just been so hard for me, and Boris, and I think it will take me awhile to get over this lose. I love you Georgey!! You were one in a million and I will never have another cat like you! Thank you for 9 great years and being such an very loving and happy boy! I sure hope you are cuddled up on dad's stomach relaxing right now!!

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

I am so excited that I can finally tell everyone a secret that I have been holding inside for a week now! I have been asked to travel to New York for Thanksgiving to work the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!! I am so excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity and so very grateful to Varsity giving me this chance!! I can't wait to experience New York and the Parade with some amazing friends! I promise while I am there I will take lots of pics and do as many things I can in the week I am there! I am just so blessed to have this chance and I am going to enjoy every min of it! I have watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade every year since I was little and I always wanted to be in the parade but just having the chance to be there in person and work it is close enough to that dream as I will ever get! I will not do a count down till Nov that way people arent like really Chloe its only September :) haha Well I just wanted to share that little bit of exciting news today! Now back to getting ready for classes to start next week and preseason soccer practice!

All Moved In

I am finally all moved to Bristol!! All my boxes are unpacked and the kitties are loving the new place! A couple times a day Boris goes running as fast as he can up and down the hallway sounding like a heard of elephants. LOL But I really enjoy my new apartment! It is a 2 bedroom 2 bath so its nice a big! But the big plus is I am only 10mins from work instead of 45mins like I was last year! So here's to a new school year not waking up 2 hours before I have to be at work!!!

End of Summer

Well summer 9 of working camps is over with and in the books. I had a great summer and loved working camps again as always! I created a lot of memories, made some new friends and once again learned a lot about myself. Without this job I know I would not be the person I am or even half the Athletic Trainer that I am. So here's to another great summer and thank you to everyone that helped make it so great. Now time to move into my new apartment and get ready to welcome my athletes back on campus!! Can't wait to see what summer 10 will have in store for me!!

Happy 4th of July

So yesterday was July 4th, which is one of my favorite holiday's! I spent my 4th this year in West Virgina visiting my friend Sara! She has a firework extravaganza every year so B and I thought we should experience this every year. We had so much fun and Sara was such a great hostess! I hope all of you had a great 4th and celebrated our independence in a fun way with family and friends! Here are some pics from my day!

Camp Fun

So this past week I finished up my first month of camps! I am now on my July 4th break and will return to camp on July 7th! I have had so much fun so far this summer and have worked camps at 3 different locations. My main location for camps this summer is the University of Tennessee. I had all these camps and they have become my babies! I work hard to make sure all the coaches are happy and that the camps run as smoothly as possible! It a tough task, can even been stressful, but I have enjoyed the challenge.Over and over again I am reminded why I love this job so much! So I just wanted to share some fun pics from camp so far this summer.

Happy Father's Day

So today is Father's Day and it is a day that I still face with a heavy heart. almost 7 years ago I lost my daddy so its hard for me to really embrace this day! But I try really hard to because I have so many friends that are father's now and I want to enjoy this day for them. I think when I finally have a kid of my own I will be able to embrace fathers day again but until then it will be a hard day for me every year. I really miss talking to my dad,  seeing him smile, hugging  him and just laughing with him. He was a great man and I would not be the person I am today without him! I really hope that he is proud of the person I have become!! I love and miss you daddy!! Happy Father's Day!

P Man is 2!!

So this past week little P Man turned 2! This year I did not have a camp so I was able to go home and attend his 2nd birthday party! (last year I was at camp so I missed his 1st birthday party) It was so much fun to actually get to watch him enjoy cake, open presents and just run around like the happy little boy that he is. It was also really nice to see some old friends that I have not seen since I moved to TN! I really love this little boy and I am so glad that my bestest wants me in his life! I love when he runs up to me with his arms out when he sees me for the first time! I just love that  cute little red head with all my heart!!

Having A Blast!

So after spending 5 days at the University of Alabama I drove 577 miles to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to work Southeast Cheer Work Week! I was so excited to get to Chapel Hill and get this work week started. This year marked year #6 that I have worked this. I have so many cheer friends that I just love to see and I normally only get to see them this one week every year! I always have so much fun and I love the people that I have the fun with! So for the past 8 summers the southeast has been my home and I have come very close to a lot of the cheer staff that I work with on a regular bases, but since I moved to Tennessee last Aug I am no longer a member of the southeast but of the midsouth. This was news I had to break to all the older cheer staff this past week and they were all very sad. Even had one guy tell me I was breaking his heart. haha I love that the staff in this region cares about me so much! But I made sure I enjoyed my week with this staff and spent a lot of time with them since I wont see many of them the rest of the summer!! So here are some pics from my week! I am now hanging at home for a couple days before I'm on the road again! Hope to have more fun to share again with you guys soon!!

Summer Fun

So the first week of my summer was spent at the University of Alabama helping train the new members of the VCA aka "Redshirt" family. I really had a great time getting to see some of my favorite old friends and meeting new ones! This week was a nice break from my normal life and I dont think it could have been any better. I won Vet of The Year for the Southeast region on awards night (which I was not expecting) and just loved being around the people that mean the most to me! You know people are really true friends when you dont see each other for a year but pick up right where you left off the second your are together again! I love these people and I cant wait till we can all be together again!! So here's to an amazing summer filled with lots of memories, friends, hard work and good times!!!
