Summer

Well it is that time of year again for me...SUMMER! And we all know that this means lots of traveling, cheerleading/dancing, not getting much sleep, hanging out with great friends and making lots of new memories! So yes it is time for summer camps to begin again! I am very excited for the summer to start and it is starting out in Chapel Hill at SE Cheer Work Week! I am so excited for this because it might be the only time this summer I really get to see all my wonderful NC/SC staff since I am spending most of my summer in Tennessee. I am very sad about not working my "normal" camps that I have worked for the past 7 years but I am very excited about the new adventure that I will be making working camps at the University of Tennessee!! So everyone keep you eyes out for lots of fun pictures and blogs fill with Orange :) I also get to make my first ever appearance at the vet training in Lake Geneva next weekend. I am excited about this little trip (even if it is for less than 48 hours) because I will get to see some people that I only get to see in Disney World!! So YAY for a summer full of new experiences for me and I am hoping that by the end of the summer I will finally be able to say I have a job! So everyone say a prayer for me that something will finally fall into place for me!!

On a Side note this past weekend I attended the MAATA conference (mid-athlantic athletic trainers association) for the first time since I was in undergrad. I had a lot of fun and got to see some people that I haven't seen in years and also met some great new professionals! Its so different attending the conference once you are all grown up! But I had a lot of fun, learned some things and got to spend time with great people! Yay for getting 12 CEUs towards my 25 CEUS that are needed before Dec!! haha I did not take many pictures this weekend but here are 3 for you to enjoy. These pics are from Sat night at the hall of fame banquet!

So that is a short update on my life at the moment! I am sure this summer will bring lots of new stories and memories that I can't wait to share with you all!!

Smile

Smiling is infectious,
You can catch it like the flu.
Someone smiled at me today,
And I started smiling too.
 ~Author Unknown

So I am normally the type of person that always has a smile on my face! I don't know what it is about me but I have just always been a happy person. So if I am not smiling people normally ask me what is wrong. After my dad passed away (almost 6 years ago) it took me a very long time to find my smile/happy place again. For those of you that are reading this and don't know much about my background I was/still am the full on definition of Daddy's Little Girl and my daddy passed away suddenly 6 years ago this July (just to catch you up a little on my life). It took me a good 3-4 years to really be able to look at someone and just smile and really mean it. I am going to tell you when you loose your happy place it takes a lot to get it back, and well I didn't really get that happy place back, (because I can never get that place back with my daddy gone) but I did find a new happy place and I am very happy with where I am at with myself today. So since I can finally say I am genially happy again (but I would be way happier if I had a job) I thought I would share with you some of the quotes that I have helped me a long the way to finding my wonderful happy place again. I hope you enjoy them and I really hope that one of these quotes will be something you can look at when you need a smile and it helps you find it!

"So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, Keep Smiling! Because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about!' ~Marilyn Monroe

"A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything." ~Irish Proverb

"Life is to short! Smile while you still have teeth!" ~ Author Unknown

"The world always looks brighter from behind a smile."  ~ Author Unknown

"Let your smile change the world...but don't let the world change your smile!" ~ Author Unknown

"Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing."  ~Mother Teresa

So those are a few of my favorite Smile quotes, I have many more quotes about happiness that I love and also helped me through difficult times but this blog was about Smiling! So keep on smiling everyone because you never know who's live you can touch or change with just a little smile!!

1 Year Down 1 Year To Go

Well as all of you know that read this blog, I started this blog not long after I turned 28 to document my road to turning 30. Well this past weekend I officially turned 29 and have started my last year of my 20s. I had such a fun and relaxing birthday! When I think back on my 20s, my how the times have changed. In my early 20s I was in college and my birthday always fell on the last weekend of classes so I normally spent my birthday out partying hard with my friends. In my mid 20s I would spend my birthday out at a bar having some drinks and celebrating cinco de mayo (which for those of you that dont know me my birthday is May  5). Now at the end of my 20s I seem to enjoy going to a wine festival and just cooking out at home  with friends. My how getting older changes your way of thinking you should celebrate your birthday! But anyway back to the real reason of the blog, so at this time next year I will be saying goodbye to my 20s and hello to my 30s. I am a little nervous about the thought of being 30 and finally being really considered an adult, or at least that is what my mom says. haha I know this next year is going to be filled with lots of ups and downs and lots of changes, good and bad, but my goal is to make this last year of my 20s the best year yet and I promise to keep you all informed! So heres to lots of memories, great friends and some of the best times we can have!

Last Trip To Disney

So the past week and a half I took another trip down to Disney. This time the trip was for the ICU/Worlds championships. Lets just say that this was the longest, hardest, most interesting trip I have had to Disney yet. I arrived late on Tuesday night. I should have arrived about 3 hours earlier then I did but I was a nice person and waited at the airport for the other people that were riding with me because their flight got delayed. Good thing I did wait because I got the chance to see my LIL (Amber) in the airport! She was in Orlando for her conference tennis tourney and well just by chance we were in the airport at the same time! It was so great to see her since I had not see her face since maybe September! So on Wed I worked form 8-3 in the HP field house for open rehearsals. Thursday-Sunday are just a blur for me! I spent about 12-15 hours each day in the field house working competitions and well lets just say I haven't been that tired in a very long time! I had a great crew of people to work with and enjoyed spending time with some good friends but 4 days of competition can wear on you! I was ready to be done on Sunday and just not be in any type of building that had 4 walls for a few days! On Monday I worked in the afternoon, then had sushi for dinner and went to the outlet mall! I finally bought myself a birthday present, the coach sunglasses I have been wanting forever!! I am very happy with this purchase and I am going to be extra careful with these glasses! Whenever they are not on my face they will be in their case because I did not pay for expensive nice sunglasses to turn around and break them!! haha On Tuesday night everyone that was still in Disney went to Fulton's Crab House for dinner to celebrate mine and Kathy's birthdays along with our last trip to Disney. It was def the most expensive meal I think I have ever paid for but it was well worth it! HEHE gave me my birthday present and it was one of the best i have gotten yet! A Perry the Platypus beach towel, so yes if you see me this summer at the pool or beach that will most likely be my towel of choice to carry!! I really enjoyed all my trips to Disney this year! I loved spending time with some of my great old friends but also enjoyed all the new friends I made this year! Not sure yet if trips to Disney for nationals are still in my future or not, just going to depend on how the job hunt goes and what position I finally get! But I enjoyed this year and loved the ride that all the experiences took me on!! I am a die hard Disney fan and it is something that never gets old to me! I do know I have to make at least one more trip down because they just opened the Agent P experience at Epcot and well I have to do that at least once!! haha I am a kid at heart and always will be!! Well thats all I have for now!
