Macy's Parade 2013

I just got home from the most amazing trip! I spent the past week in New York City working the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! I had such a great time and I am so thankful to Varsity and SOA for providing me with the opportunity to work this trip. I do not think I can put into words how much fun I had and the many amazing new memories I made of the past week!! I spent so much money and I am officially broke for the next few months but it was all worth it! I would not trade anything that happened in the past week for anything! So I am going to touch on a few points of the trip and share some photos!! Hope you enjoy!

So first of all I got to spend the whole week with my Bestie! I had not seen her since May when I worked an event in Orlando! This was the first time that we had had the chance to be together over a holiday and I was so excited for it! A week together is a long time for us since we normally only get to see each other for like 2-3 days at a time a few times a year! Plus getting to experience NYC with her made it all the better! I also go to spend time with some amazing people that I call my second family!

I got to see two different shows while I was in NYC. We saw Newsies and the Radio City Rockettes. Newsies was such a fun and exciting show! I really enjoyed it and am glad I got the chance to see it. If I was just to go up to NYC on my own it would not have been a show that I just chose on my own so I am so excited that this trip gave me the chance to see a show I might not have seen other wise! My dad always use to talk about the Rockettes and how much he loved watching them perform. I am so happy that I finally got the chance to see the show in person and not just on TV or hearing people talk about it. It was a good show and very fun! Got to love the athleticism of the Rockettes and the fact that they do it all in heels!!

I did lots and lots of shopping in NYC. Spent most of my money in Soho! Did not spend much money on 5th Ave (because I can't afford 99% of the stuff) but it was so fun to see all these stores that I don't get to see normally. Also was introduced to a few new stores that I had never heard of before that were not expensive! But shopping in NYC is a totally different ball game then shopping anywhere else!!

The best part of the trip and main reason why I went to NYC was walking in the Parade! Being at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in person was definitely something on my backlist and I got to check it off!! We were worried that the balloons might not get to fly due to the wind but the weather held up and they flew. The 3 mile walk was the longest parade route to date. I got to see so many different stars! It was just so exciting to be apart of something that is such a staple to millions of people on Thanksgiving! I had a blast, even if I had to get up at 4:30am and couldn't feel my legs when all was said and done!! I would do it again a million times over! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!!

So I had the best trip! It was definitely a trip of a life time!! I had a blast and made lots of memories!! So thank you again to Varsity (exp Michelle, Coco and Karen) and SOA for allowing me to be apart of this trip and for helping me have a Thanksgiving I will never forget!

Heartbroken

This past weekend was a very hard weekend for me. I sadly had to put down my beloved George and let me tell you I am so heartbroken over it. I found out Sat morning that he had cancer and their was nothing we could do about it. The last thing I wanted for this amazingly sweet kitty was for him to suffer so I had to make the hard decision, by myself, to put him down. I do not believe I have cried this much since my dad passed away 7 1/2 years ago.

George has been a part of our family for the past 9 years and he was the most loving cat we have ever had. I always said he was a dog trapped in a cats body because he would come when he was called, waited at the door for me every day, among many other things. I loved this cat with all my heart and my house just isn't the same without him. George was also my daddy's cat, so loosing George is harder than any other animal I have ever had. So hard to put down the animal that my dad loved so much. Poor Boris is just walking around the house wondering where his brother is. This has just been so hard for me, and Boris, and I think it will take me awhile to get over this lose. I love you Georgey!! You were one in a million and I will never have another cat like you! Thank you for 9 great years and being such an very loving and happy boy! I sure hope you are cuddled up on dad's stomach relaxing right now!!
