The Trouble With My Name

So I have noticed my whole life how people just cant seem to spell or say my name right. My name is Chloe (which all of you know if your are reading this) and I dont think it is a hard name to say or spell! But it is a problem for some people and it makes me laugh. I went to starbucks the other morning to use their free internet again and this is how the guy spelled my name on the cup (pic to right). This is not the correct way to spell my name. Yes this is what my college roommate calls me and she even spells my name this way some times but that is on purpose. Other popular spellings of my name are Chole, Chule, Choloe, Chowe and the list can go on. And yes these are all ways I have seen someone spell my name at one time or another in my life. They are all very laughable but wrong. I used to correct people all the time and I still do when it comes to how to say it but I have given up on the spelling. I mean the spelling has been a problem since birth and I even had to have my name officially changed when I was 15 because my name was spelt wrong on my birth certificate (and yes I blame this on my parents because they were so excited to have me as a child they didnt pay attention to the spelling of my name when they signed it when I was born) haha And the only reason we found out it was spelt wrong is because the guy at the DMV when I went to get my permit made me spell my name Chole on my learning permit. I was a very unhappy 15 year old.  So yes it seems that people have had trouble spelling and saying my name since the day I was born.

P.S. Most of my friends call me Chlo and I am totally cool with that because it is a nickname! I am also ok with my best friend Antwan calling me Choole (even though my aunt was not happy at first when he sent me a postcard and spelt it that way) haha So if you have a nickname for me that is some variation great!

Fall My Favorite Time of Year!

So it has been awhile since I have been able to post a blog and well its because I dont have internet at my moms. So I am sitting in a starbucks right now using their free internet so I thought I should post a blog :) This blog is all about my favorite season. So why is fall my favorite season you might be wondering, Well.....

I love fall because it means its football season!! And well their is lots of football on TV...at least 5 days/nights out of 7! So that makes  me one very happy girl!! It  also means cooler weather and i can wear long sleeves! I love the type of weather where I can wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt! I also think another reason why I like this type of weather is because I am no longer hot in my wonderful car that has no AC. haha I also really enjoy watching the leaves change colors and fall from the trees. I think trees are the prettiest in the fall with the red, yellow and orange color leaves all over them! The mountains of NC are the prettiest this time of year and I love just going there and driving around! The state fair is also another reason! It only happens once a year and for 10 days! I used to go for the rides but now i really only go for the food. I mean its the one time of year it is ok to eat lots of fried food and not really get mad at yourself!! HAHA I didnt get the chance to go to the fair last year because I lived in SC and had to work but I am going to make it a point to go this year because they have the BEST roast corn ever there and I just have to have some this year!!

Fall also means EVERYTHING PUMPKIN!!! And let me tell you I love me some pumpkin!! I love the pumpkin spice latte from starbucks (def my fav and I love when fall comes around and I can have it for 3 months). I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pretty much anything pumpkin I love it! I also love carving pumpkins! I think it is so fun to have a pumpkin carving party! I had one last year while I was at Furman with all the Assistant ATCs and it was so much fun! I also love carving pumpkins because it means pumpkin seeds! I dont normally eat seeds of any kinds (yes I was a softball player and I did not eat sunflower seeds, weird I know) but I love pumpkin seeds! So if you couldnt tell pumpkin makes me happy and well I only really get to enjoy everything pumpkin is in the fall!

So now you know the many reason of why I love fall and why it is my favorite season! Their are many more reasons for why I love fall but I will not bore you with anymore! But I am sure some of you learned something new about me from this blog and I hope you enjoyed! So if I am ever mad at you and you are trying to find a way to make it up to me I would say something pumpkin (instead of flowers) might be your best bet haha :)

Skype

Skype is my new best friend!! It helps me stay in touch with all my friends that I do not get to see on a regular basses! I love getting to see peoples faces and have a face to face conversation with my friends! So if you have skype and you want to chat let me know! I love skyping and I do it every time I actually have internet! Hope everyone is having a great week! 

And just to update you on my life I am still in the process of finding a job! Still keeping my fingers crossed and my spirits high that the right job for me will find me soon!!

Penny For My Thoughts

So once again my friend Katie has got me thinking. This is something she is very good at. She can just ask a question and well by the way she puts it it can make your mind run crazy. The other night she posted this question on twitter "Do you believe you can be together with your soulmate forever?"  To me this is a very indepth question and one I have never really thought about. Katie started thinking about this question after she read Eat, Pray, Love. She read me the passage out of the book that got her mind running on this topic. So I got to thinking about her question (and the passage from the book) and just the thought of soulmates all together and I thought I would share a little bit of my thoughts on it. I know not everyone will agree with me or think the same way I do and thats ok, but I thought it was a vey interesting topic and worth blogging about!

First I am going to let everyone know what the meaning of soulmate is to me. I think a soulmate is someone that can see inside you and knows you just as well if not better than you know yourself. They are someone that helps you see yourself in a different light and helps you understand things you can't/don't about yourself. They see all your faults and positives and it doesn't change anything about how they feel about you.

Most people think your soulmate is your other half, the person that completes you and your significant other. But I am not so sure if this is always the case. I say this because I think their is a chance that you can have more than one soulmate in your lifetime. I feel like the reason why a lot of people think their soulmate is their significant other is because of love. I think love is blind and the feelings that you have for that person are so strong that you think they complete you and are your soulmate and you never think about anyone else being a soulmate. I think you can have a soulmate that has no romantic connection to you at all. Maybe your best friend is your soulmate. Maybe we can have more than one soulmate in our lifetime?

This brings me to the second question Katie brought to my attention, "Does your soulmate stay in your life forever?" For me this is a yes and no answer. I believe at times a person comes into our life and they are meant to be here forever and help us work through all the good and bad times we have. But I also think that at some points in your life for one reason or another you meet your soulmate but it just doesnt workout for them to stay in your life. People come in and out of our life all the time. Their is always a reason for them coming into out life and a reason for them leaving. These people always teach us something about ourselves or our life and that is something I believe a soulmate does! Which brings me back to my thought that we might just have more than one soulmate throughout our life!

I know this is a very interesting and deep topic to talk about and that not everyone shares the same view that I do and im ok with that! I just wanted to share all these crazy thoughts that have been going through my head over the past few days. I am sure that my thoughts will continue to evolve on this topic and maybe at some point I will post again to update you on how they have changed. I am very open and welcoming to other peoples thoughts on this subject so if you ever want to talk about it hit me up!

College Football Season

This is my favorite time of year!! I love fall and college football season!! I love Sat, tailgating, screaming PURPLE and GOLD, hearing the cannon go off after a touchdown, sitting in front of my TV for hours at a time, seeing teams feel what its like to walk the plank and cheering my Pirates on to victory! Yes I am a Pirate at heart and down to my soul! I bleed Purple and Gold!! Their is nothing better than being an ECU Pirate and wearing my colors proudly! I live and breathe Pirate football and it doesnt matter if we are winning or losing I will always cheer my Pirates on! 

The 8 months out of the year that college football is not in my life I get so bored on Sat and feel like their is never anything on TV. But now I can be happy again! Not only do I love cheering on my Pirates but I also just love the game! I love watching the underdog win and seeing amazing games! Last nights TCU/Baylor game started the season off right! It was an amazing game and the underdog won!

I am not your typical female! I live and breathe college football and can tell you why a flag has been thrown before the ref says anything! I enjoy the game as much if not more than any guy and cheer and yell at the TV and for my team as hard, if not harder! This is my game and my sport! I love everything about college football!! So bring on college football season! I will be wearing my Purple and Gold (and sometimes black, purple and gold) every weekend and cheering loud! This is the best time of year so live and enjoy the best season/sport their is with all the crazyness that comes with College Football!!

Life At The Moment

Well I dont really have anything fun to talk about right now. Summer is officially over with and I am now back at my moms spending most of my time trying to find a job. I dont know that I ever thought the task of finding a job would be this hard! I can say I have prolly applied to at least 25 jobs (if not more) since March and I am still unemployed. I did have a very close shot at getting a job in FL. I was one of their top 6 candidates and had an interview but in the end I did not end up getting the position. I am now starting to get frustrated with the whole process! I want to be in an Athletic Training room so bad right now. I want to be in preseason and getting my teams ready to start play but I am not. I never thought I would be so ready to start working but I am! I am so bored and really dont have much to do right now. I love my mom but its hard to move back in with your parent when you havent lived with them in like 7 years! I'm crossing my fingers that something will come my way really soon or I might be forced to settle doing something I dont really enjoy for awhile. Hopefully it does not come to that! I just have to keep having faith that I will find a job soon and that everything happens for a reason and when it is meant to happen for you it will! So to all my ATC friends that are in preseason know that I wish I was there with you! So everyone keep crossing your fingers and praying that I find a job soon before I go crazy! HAHAHA 

Well I'm done complaining about not having a job and I hope that soon I can post a blog sharing news of finally having one! So keep checking back to see what will happen next in my life!
