Christmas Time

Well I am a little late on this post but I really wanted to post about Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love getting in the spirit of the season every year! I got all of my love for Christmas from my daddy! This was his favorite holiday also and let me tell you our house was all decked out when he was alive! He even hand made the sled and reindeer that were in front of our house! For everyone that met my dad knew that he didnt only love Christmas but he also looked like Santa and he loved giving this time of year! My dad always made sure we had a big Christmas. The last Christmas I spent with him he went out of his way to make sure my brother and I got a new 32g ipod (this was in 2005 so ipods were flying off the shelves and hard to find) and also got me a portable dvd player. He never wanted my brother or I to do without on Christmas. Now a days my family does not really exchange gifts with each other anymore. We are all adults (I am the baby of the family) and we do not think present are as important anymore. But my mom did go out of her way and get me a pair of TOMS that I have been trying to get for like 2 months so I am so thankful for her making sure I got them for Christmas!! (She tries really hard to make sure some things in my life dont change to much) So my dad passed his love and spirit of Christmas on to me and I am trying really hard to keep it alive! One thing that he made sure happened every year was that all the family got together on Christmas day for a good meal! When he passed away 5 years ago I was very worried that this tradition would stop but it hasnt and I am so happy for this!! Christmas to me is a time for family, friends, love and Jesus!

But Christmas to me is also a time of year when I really miss my daddy the most! I miss his spirit and love for the year. I miss hearing Christmas music every day in the house. I miss watching Christmas movies with him and going to see the new Christmas movie of the year with him. I miss having a house all decorated and lit up. I miss his wrapping and beautiful bows that he would make to go on our presents. I really miss his wonderful cooking and new food "inventions" he would try every year! But most of all I really just miss having him here to share in everything with me!

So for as much as I love this time of year and all it stands for, it really makes me miss my daddy. So I am happy and loving spending time with my friends and family but a little piece of me is missing and I notice it a lot this time of year. But Daddy I thank you for giving me this love for Christmas and showing me what holiday cheer should really be like! I can not wait to one day pass your love for Christmas on to my kids!!

I hope everyone has a great Christmas! Enjoyed your time with family and Friends! And got all you wanted! Now lets bring on 2012 and the knew memories that will be made!!

Chloe  :)
