Having A Blast!

So after spending 5 days at the University of Alabama I drove 577 miles to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to work Southeast Cheer Work Week! I was so excited to get to Chapel Hill and get this work week started. This year marked year #6 that I have worked this. I have so many cheer friends that I just love to see and I normally only get to see them this one week every year! I always have so much fun and I love the people that I have the fun with! So for the past 8 summers the southeast has been my home and I have come very close to a lot of the cheer staff that I work with on a regular bases, but since I moved to Tennessee last Aug I am no longer a member of the southeast but of the midsouth. This was news I had to break to all the older cheer staff this past week and they were all very sad. Even had one guy tell me I was breaking his heart. haha I love that the staff in this region cares about me so much! But I made sure I enjoyed my week with this staff and spent a lot of time with them since I wont see many of them the rest of the summer!! So here are some pics from my week! I am now hanging at home for a couple days before I'm on the road again! Hope to have more fun to share again with you guys soon!!

Summer Fun

So the first week of my summer was spent at the University of Alabama helping train the new members of the VCA aka "Redshirt" family. I really had a great time getting to see some of my favorite old friends and meeting new ones! This week was a nice break from my normal life and I dont think it could have been any better. I won Vet of The Year for the Southeast region on awards night (which I was not expecting) and just loved being around the people that mean the most to me! You know people are really true friends when you dont see each other for a year but pick up right where you left off the second your are together again! I love these people and I cant wait till we can all be together again!! So here's to an amazing summer filled with lots of memories, friends, hard work and good times!!!

HELLO 30

I cant believe it but the time has come....I said goodbye to my 20's on Sat and Hello to 30 on Sunday. I cant believe the time has gone bye so fast. Well at least I feel like it went by fast even though I know the last 2 years did not fly by at all!!

Boy how my life has changed in the last 2 years since I started this blog. I have finally found a full time job, picked up my life and moved to Tennessee, made some knew friends and learned so much about myself. I am a totally different person today compared to when I was 28. You wouldn't think that things would change so much in 2 years but boy did they.

I am really happy with myself and with life. My 20's were such a roller coaster filled with lots of ups and downs. From graduating college with both a bachelors and masters degree to the death of my daddy. Through it all i have turned out a better person and I wouldn't be the person I am today without everything that happened to me during my 20's. But I am glad to say goodbye to them and hello to my 30s. I am ready to face this new decade head on and I cant wait to see all the adventures (weather good or bad) that will come my way. I know that I will still learn a lot about myself but I am ready for it.

I spent my birthday in FL working a competition. Yes I worked on my birthday. But I wanted to see some of my good friends and well

going to Disney to work a comp is the only way that was going to happen. Even though I worked I really enjoyed my birthday! My friends made sure it was a special day. Erin and James sent beautiful flowers to me in FL, Hehe made me a hat and sash, Katie gave me a sweet card and lots of others just gave me hugs and told me happy birthday. All I cared about were the people I would be with not anything else. So I thank everyone for helping me have such a great day!!

Lots of people have asked me how it feels to be 30 and right now it feels no different. But ask me in a year or 2 and I might actually have a different opinion. One thing I do know is that I am not 21 anymore and I can no longer act like that or pretend like I am. But I do still feel like I am 25 and not 30 (which I have no idea what 30 should feel like)

So now on to a new decade and changing of the name of my blog. So keep checking back because the name change will be happening very soon. Love you guys!!

ONE WEEK!!

One week from today I officially say goodbye to my 20's and hello to my 30's. I really have no idea where the time has gone! But I am very excited to spend my 30th birthday in Florida with some of my favorite people! I fly to Florida Friday night to work the summit and I fly back Tuesday morning. Even though I will be working on my birthday I will be in great company with great people so I am ok with it! Plus I have Monday to play in Florida and hangout with some of my best friends. So I know no matter what we do it will be an amazing birthday!!

Year One Coming To An End

Well softball season has come to an end meaning year one at King is also coming to an end. I just have to say that I really loved working with softball this year and this team. They are such a great group of girls with 2 great coaches! I have had so much fun getting to know them and they have welcomed me into their family with open arms. I cant believe that as of spring break we were 12-20 and finished the season 31-26. We went 17-6 in our last 23 games and finished the season as regular season champs in Conference Carolinas! I am so proud of this team and how far they have come this season. They really played their hearts out in the conference tournament but it just wasnt meant to be. Losing a game by one in the 12th inning and losing another by 2 in the 10th inning is really hard and emotional. But I know this team will bounce back so strong and I cant wait to season what next season has in store for them! So thank you for welcoming the new girl into your family with open arms and I am so proud to be your Athletic Trainer!!

I can honestly say I have learned a lot about myself this year! I learned how to handle stress while keeping a smile on my face and that I have way more confidence in what I do then I ever thought I did. I also learned that I really love what I do and working with these athletes and I will not let anyone take that away from me no matter how hard they might try! This year was not easy for me moving from a big city to a small town but I feel like it has helped me grow so much as a person. I am so sad to see my first group of seniors go but so happy with the moments and memories I got with them this year!

Now bring on having a little bit of a life for the next couple of months, free time, relaxation (well somewhat) and just enjoying having my weekends back!!

iPad Mini

So last week I finally broke down after about a year of talking about it and looking and bought an iPad Mini. I am so excited about my new toy! I bought it from AT&T because it was cheaper and I got a service plan with it since I travel so much so I can always use it! For the first week I did not have a case for it (because I am picky and couldnt find anything in the store that I liked so had to order it online) and carried it around in the box and even when I used it I left it in the box. I know such a nerd but didnt want to take any chances and mess it up! But Monday my case arrived in the mail and it is now safely in its home! I can say that I am in love and love my new toy! Dont have much uploaded on it yet (still learning and figuring out what to put on it) but love that I can put books on it and movies!! It is def going to be nice having it this summer when I am traveling!! I guess you can say this is my present to myself for getting a job and my Happy 30th Birthday present to myself also :) So if you have any good apps that you think I should download make sure you pass them my way (just know I really only like things that are free) haha
