Bring It On: The Musical

So as most of you know my best friend Antwan is an cast member in Bring It On: The Musical and this past week the show has been in Durham!! I was so excited to finally get the chance to see Antwan again and see the show!! I hadn't seen him since September right before he left for New York to start rehearsals and I hadn't actually seen the show since it was in Atlanta last year! I went to the show with my mom and my aunt on Wed night! The show was so good! They had made some changes since I saw it last year but I loved every min of it!! The idea for the musical came from the movies and the fact that cheerleading is such a big sport now, but it is so much more than what the movies were! It is a comedy that will keep you laughing through out the whole show and the stunts and tumbling will keep you wanting to see more.  Antwan and the rest of the cast did an amazing job and my mom and my aunt loved it! It was so much fun and I loved listening to the people sitting around us that knew nothing of cheerleading talk about how much they enjoyed the show and talk about all the stunts and tumbling! I heard so many ooos and ahhhs during the show.  I really wish I had the chance to go see the show again before it leaves but it just is not in the cards!
After the show we got the chance to go back stage to see Antwan and he took us on a little tour of the DPAC. It was so cool to actually walk on stage and see what he sees every night. It was also interesting to listen to him explain the stage and to walk no the floor (from the audience it looks like just a normal stage floor but its really a bouncy kind of rubber surface!) We walked down the back hallway that has a mural from every show that has performed at the DPAC. It was so neat!! The Bring It On mural was not complete yet so I did not get to get a pic of it but I did get a pic of the Phinease and Ferb Live Show one :) And yes I am like a 5 year old when it comes to Phinease and Ferb! haha but I had such a great time at the show and loved seeing Antwan!! After our tour we went over to Tobacco Road House to get some food and hangout a little. Antwan's mom and some of her coworkers had also come to see the show and Erin, Antwan's girlfriend was also there, so we had a nice little group of people hanging out just talking all about the show! So like I have said already we had a lot of fun and it was just great to see Antwan and get the chance to finally hangout again! So yea for anyone that has not had a chance to go see Bring It On yet, you need to check and see if it is coming to a city near you and go and check it out! It is a great show and the cast is amazing!!

Daytona

Hey everyone!!

So I know it has been a hot min since I have posted a blog so here is a long over due update! not much has really changed in my life since my last post but I have done a few fun things since then! Last week I got the chance to go to Daytona and work NCA/NDA College Nationals. For this event I was doing totally different work then what I normally do when I am down in Orlando working UCA events. For this event I went strictly to work sponsorship, which means I went just to hand out Gatorade instead of band-aids! I had a really great time and got the chance to experience an event I have never worked before while enjoying some time with friends!

Wednesday  was the day we all arrived and it was also set up day. Thursday was day one of competition and well when you work for Darby it is great to be a girl! The guys had to be up and at the venue at like 6:30 and well us girls got to sleep in and we did not have to be at the venue till 11am. I it was such a fantastic thing to be at a competition but not have to be at work till 11am!! We went in and worked for about 3+ hours, just long enough to give the guys a break to get away form the competition and get some lunch and relax! It was a really fun day! For lunch we went to this fun little hole in the wall that we just found (after driving like 10+ miles outside of Daytona) and the food was so yummy! The name of the place was Betty's Cafe so if you are ever in Daytona drive to Ormond by the Sea and enjoy! Betty loves Elvis so he is everywhere, even in the women's bathroom! haha but the food was amazing, fresh and homemade! So Friday was the real work day. We had to be at the venue by 8:30 ready to work. I gave out Gatorade all day. It was actually a lot of fun and I enjoyed working with Courtney and Josh! We just stood there and offered Gatorade to everyone as they came off the competition mat! Josh tried to make everyone pay in a dollar for it (even though it was free) and some even put it back because they thought he was serious! I was very good and made sure I wore sunscreen all day and put it on every 1-2 hours to prevent getting burned and guess what....it worked :) I even ended up with a slight tan line!

All in all I had a great time in Daytona!! Thank you so much Darby and Marlene for letting me come and work for you guys! I would gladly work any event you wanted me to work in the future :) Now preparing myself for the last event of the year! Worlds is next weekend so it will be the last time I will be in Orlando this year so I have to make the best of my time with my of my favorite people!! Well thats all for now but dont forget to check back because I am sure i will have something else fun to tell you about soon!!

farmersonly.com

So have you even been watching TV before and something come on that just causes you to laugh so hard and be at a loss for words? Well that happened to me tonight. I was in the middle of watching the NCIS marathon when this commercial came on for farmersonly.com. Well I am sure you are like what in the world is farmersonly.com. Well it is a dating website for country folks only. HAHA Now I am not hating at all on dating websites and esp not this one but it just caught me off guard and was the first time I had ever seen or heard of this site. After I saw the commercial I first said out loud was that really real and the next thing I did was tell Abby (because I just happened to be talking to her on fb chat at the time). The first thing Abby said to me was thats worth blogging about so I thought I would share this with you. After I saw the commercial I even went as far as going to the website to check it out. Yes this is what I do when I am really in just shock about something I go and check it out, and if you want to check it out also here is the link to the website http://www.farmersonly.com/ and I wont even be mad if you want to join :) haha So this was my big excitement for a pretty much lazy day and it gave me a great laugh! I hope you at least found this somewhat amusing just like me! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Draw Something

So my wonderful friend Abby introduced me to  a new game for my iPhone this past week and I thought I would share my love and excitement for it with you guys! The name of the game is Draw Something and I have had so much fun playing it! I get to play with all my friends that have iPhones and it is like a pictionary game. The goal is to draw something and hope the other person guesses right because you get points for all right answers!! So Abby introduced me to this game this past Thursday (it is Tuesday) and I already have 12 games going!! I am a very horrible drawer and sometimes I wonder how people can guess right what i have drawn but I guess thats what makes the game so much fun! Right now my game with my friend becca we are up to 21 times in a row being able to guess what each other is drawing!! That is a record for me!! haha So if you have an iPhone and you want to play a fun FREE game you should download draw something and play me :) I also thought i would share some of the fun things I have drawn so far with this game so you can 1. see how great of a drawer I am and 2. see why you should play :) Hope everyone has a great Tuesday and first day of Spring!!!

St. Patricks Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Well yesterday was March 17 which only means one thing....it was St. Patrick's Day! And well I am Irish so I had to enjoy celebrating my heritage for the day. I went with Erin, James and Anthony into downtown Winston-Salem to a Irish pub. The pub had set up a big tent in the street and had bands and food all day and it was so much fun! I ate typical Irish food, corn beef, fish and chips and shepherds pie. They had spotted dick but I couldn't bring myself to try it for some reason. haha Twice while we were there they had a funeral process for St. Patrick with bag pies and all! It was really neat! Their were a number of people there in kilts and everyone was just having a good time! I saw a few people who didn't have green on (why in the world would you go to a St. Patty's Day celebrating and not wear green??) and I wanted to pinch them so bad but being that I didn't know them I didn't think it was a very good idea :) Over all it was a very good night and the first time I have celebrated St. Patty's Day on a Sat in a very long time! I enjoyed celebrating being Irish and having out with friends! Maybe one year I will make it down to Savannah and their big St. Patty's Day celebration that they have!! Hope everyone had a great day yesterday and wore their green!!

Life Update

Hey everyone, its been about 2 weeks since I updated you on my exciting life. I just returned from Orlando this past Tuesday, I sent another week down there working a competition y(his time I was down there to work the UCA/UDA international allstar competition). I enjoyed being down there and being able to hangout with some of my favorite people but boy did this one take a lot out of me. On Sat morning I had to wake up at 4:45am to get ready so I would be on time and at work by 6:15 and I worked till about 11pm that night. That is one long day!! On Sunday it was Spring Forward which meant I lost an hour of sleep. So my alarm was set for 5:45 but to my body clock it was 4:45am. So that was 2 mornings in a row of getting up that early and it def took a lot out of me. But overall the weekend was a good one and I enjoyed seeing some of my good friends and people I havent seen in a long time!!

Yesterday I made the drive down to Montgomery, AL for a job interview. I met with a few different people and just had some good conversations about the job and other things. The job would be working at a small college there and it sounds like a good place for me to start my career. I am not sure when I will hear for sure about this job so everyone just say a little prayer for me and cross you fingers! And if not for this job just keep me on your prayer list and hope I find a full time job soon! I am tired of being unemployed!!

Well thats all I have for now...tomorrow is St. Patricks day and being that I am Irish I am sure I will have another fun blog coming soon!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Insanity

So for Lent this year I decided not to give something up but to add something to my life. I decided that I was going to add daily exercise back into my day so I could try and get back into some kind of shape and to a routine like I was in last year at this time. So I got the crazy idea that I was going to do the 60 challenge of INSANITY. For those of you that have never seen, done or heard of this workout before the name is perfect! The trainer in the videos name is Shawn T and he is crazy. All of his videos are high energy, cardio videos. I dont think I have ever sweated so much in my life! I have now been doing these videos for almost 2 weeks and I dont think they are getting any easier. But I am really starting to enjoy these 30-45 min workouts that kick my butt every time! I think I enjoy them so much because it is a good butt kick and I am hoping that by the end of the 60 days I will start to notice some type of change and that the INSANITY of these workouts was worth it! This next week is going to be really hard and I am going to have to focus on keeping my workout routine. I will be in FL again for another national event and well the weekend will be hard to get a workout in. But I am going to stick to my guns and make sure that I stick to my routine and not let anything cause me to fall off! For now I am down around 3 pounds and hoping that I will lose more in the next 5weeks! I will keep you guys posted on how things are going and hopefully i can report that by the end of April that i have lost a lot more weight!! Well hope everyone that is on spring break or getting ready to go on spring break have a fun and safe time!!

Chloe :)
